D-Link India today launched the GVC-3000 I.P. Videophone in India. The new GVC-3000 is a Videophone that comes with a built in LCD screen that let you enjoy video conferencing without the need of a computer, television or high bandwidth.

It uses an advanced video compression technology and maximizes the image and audio quality within the available bandwidth as low as 128kbps. It is ideally suited for business due to features such as Conferencing and Integration with any standard SIP IPPBX.

Supporting H.264 Video Codec, the SIP-based phone shows compatibility with H.264, H.263, H.263+ and MPEG-4 formats. The available Jitter Buffer Management and perfect Lip Synchronization promise to deliver superior quality of audio and video while conversing.

Users will also get the opportunity to send and receive Video at CIF or QCIF resolution, up to 30 frames per second. The GVC-3000 also bundles E.164 Dialing, audio & video privacy options, support for dual mode (GSM & Wi-Fi).

D-Link has also launched its mid-range IP Phone, called GLV-540 that claims to possess many high-end features like the latest wideband codec for superior voice quality. It comes equipped with multi-user and m-line support, large graphical LCD display, speaker phone and headphone jack, power over Ethernet, dual Ethernet ports with auto-switching, wideband codec for high quality conference and message waiting indication.

Both the IP Phone and Video Phone sport simple-to-use interface that expects users to plug into one’s network or broadband connection.

Price of the D-Link phones is yet to be announced. The videophone is slated to hit Indian markets on 15 August.

Sony has introduced two new TVs series under it’s BRAVIA brand. The BRAVIA X4500 and W4500 show off their full HD for 1080p pictures and 100Hz motion technology.

Speaking on X4500 and W4500 series, George Damigos, General Manager, Marketing, TV Marketing Europe, explained, “The unique blend of advanced technology and leading design of both the BRAVIA X4500 and slim speaker systems, mean that consumers can now view crystal-clear images with atmospheric sound without compromising on the look and feel of their home. Together with the feature-packed W4500 series, these two new BRAVIA ranges represent the absolute pinnacle of Sony innovation in bringing you the best-looking pictures and an unmatched home theatre experience.”

Powered by Engine BE 2 PRO, the BRAVIA X4500 comes in 40-inch, 46-inch and 55-inch screen sizes, whereas the W4500 series is powered by Engine BE 2 and come in three sizes, 40-inch, 42-inch and 46-inch.

In the BRAVIA X4500, Sony has incorporated “energy-efficient” red, green and blue LED backlights momentarily dim itself in dark areas of a picture, lowering power usage. With the auto-dimming feature, the deeper blacks and enhanced contrast images are visible by reducing ‘light leakage’.

The floating speaker design acts as a key attribute of the X4500. Sony has added 6 main speakers and 2 woofer speakers on the 55X4500 and 4 main and 2 woofer speakers on 40X4500 / 46X4500. A RGB Dynamic LED Backlight is also available.

Furthermore, the flat screen HDTV TV offers 1080p resolution, 24f/s (aka 24p0 playback, 100Hz motion technology and 1,100,000:1 contrast ratio in addition to four HDMI ports and a USB port. However, the 40-inch X4500 TV boasts 50,000:1 of contrast ratio.

The Bravia W4500 is more or less similar to the X4500 but lacks floating speakers or the RGB LED backlight set-up. The W4500 shares a 1080p screen, 24f/s playback and 100Hz technology, and a USB port. However, the W4500 delivers a 50,000:1 contrast ratio and has only three HDMI ports.

Sony’s new BRAVIA ENGINE 2 PRO filters, the latest-generation DRC (Digital Reality Creation) 3.0 to boost the resolution using advanced up-conversion-technology to stream a Full HD 1080p picture.

Both the series sport Motionflow, Integrated MPEG-4 AVC HD tuner, IB Reduction, x.v.Colour, BRAVIA Sync, DLNA, Picture Frame Mode, PhotoTV HD and Optical digital output as well as S-Force audio.

Sony has plans to roll out the X4500 series by October and the W4500 line-up next month. Prices are still a mystery.

Alpine announces the shipment of its PND-K3 all-in-one portable navigation with Bluetooth hands-free system. The PND-K3 features natural voice text-to-speech and superior vehicle positioning technology, thus providing seamless and accurate navigation. The advanced vehicle positioning technology maintains the moving car’s location on the map even in those areas where GPS signals are weaker like tunnels or around tall buildings.

“With the PND-K3′s full feature set, sleek form factor and updated user interface, the PND-K3 is a serious competitor in the step-up portable navigation market,” said Stephen Witt, vice president, marketing.

The PND-K3 can be conveniently attached to the windshield or dashboard and can be precisely adjusted for the best viewing angle. The Alpine PND-K3 navigation system is priced at $550 SRI and is available with the Alpine dealers.

Apparently, after the BlackBerry Bold and Thunder smartphones, RIM will launch a new phone, called Javelin.

According to rumors, Javelin will be the latest addition to the BlackBerry range of smartphones. It is said to be powered by 512 MHz Processor and is expected to feature 256 MB onboard flash memory, Hot-swappable microSD slot to store up to 8GB of data, a 480 x 360 high-resolution HVGA+ display with an integrated lens/LCD technology, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and a Micro USB charging/syncing port. 

The BlackBerry Javelin phone will be WiFi and GPS compliant but strangely will not support 3G.

Some rumors speculate the phone to release in January 2009.

What is a proxy?

A proxy allows anyone anywhere to access sites that may otherwise be blocked. E.g at work you may be blocked from visiting facebook or myspace, or Orkut however through a proxy you will be able to access them.

Why do you want a Proxy?

Proxies can become very viral and attract a huge amount of traffic in a short space of time, however they are not always looked upon as a long term solution because often they are blocked as soon as they are discovered by the schools, workplaces etc.

Ok ok I am convinced what do I do now?

1./ Choose a proxy script – the most common types are php proxy (no longer being developed), zelune (this is the one I chose) and also a type called CGI-proxy which I have not had much to do with yet.

2./ Find hosting that allows proxies, remember to check with your hosting provider first because proxies are very resource intensive, so there may be a clause about whether or not they are allowed. A search on the DP forums is the best place that I found to find both discussions and links to good proxy hosting.

3./ Register the domain name of your choice, I use godaddy.com and you can normally find a coupon to save you a few dollars on the net. Once you have purchased the domain name, you will need to point the nameservers to your new hosting.

4./ Upload files to your hosting, change the pub-id for the adsense, and make any other minor changes that you may want to (e.g your own logo) and that really is about it.

Ok thats great – but how to make money from this?

We are trying several methods to generate traffic to our new proxy, there are many ways of doing this including topsites that list proxies, myspace bulletins and many other methods.

Money making is simply a matter of then converting this traffic, once the site is ticking along we may experiment with pop ups and pop unders, as well as the more traditional methods like AdSense. Remember your proxy may only be around for a short time, so its a good idea to make the most out of the traffic that you get.

But DSGMC (Delhi Sikh gurudwara management commitee) sought a ban on the movie for portraying negative image of sikhs in the film. DSGMC formed a three member commitee which has two priests Harnam Singh and Surinder Singh and Khalsa college professor Harmeet Singh who is an expert on Sikh history .These people will see the movie and based on their feedback further action will be taken.

DSGMC has also wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit asking her to ban the film in the national capital

Actually the basic reason for this revolt is film’s promos showed a Sikh character wearing a turban with a French cut beared which is not a positive sikh image.they are demanding to make changes in the portrayal in the sikh character.
